Joan Marie Wynne, 85 passed away on March 29, 2015. She was born in Brooklyn, NY.
Joan was Catholic by faith and made her career as a Model and Dancer. She gained her fame by having the opportunity to dance at the Copacabana Nite Club in New York City.
Joan was predeceased by her husband, Consolato and sister, Lorraine. She is survived by her sons, Scott, Wynn, Con Errico and grandson, Con Errico, one sister, Carolan. She is also survived by her niece Andrea DiChiaro and loving family.
Joan Wynne was still wearing white gloves to Catholic school in Brooklyn when, at sixteen, the red-haired beauty became a dancer at the legendary Copacabana. Shortly thereafter, she was engaged to the young entertainer, Eddie Fisher. However, Ms. Wynne eventually married the famous jockey, Con "Scamp" Errico. Later and for many years, Ms. Wynne was a showroom model for the fashion label Mamselle. She often accompanied designer, Betty Carol, to Europe to shop the stores.
Ms. Wynne's life gave her a front row seat on the worlds of entertainment, sports and fashion. But her greatest joy was raising her three sons, in Whitestone, Queens. Once her sons were on their way, Ms. Wynne moved to the Upper East Side and for two decades, shared her life with businessman, Fred Bleckner. She volunteered her time to God's Love We Deliver and to the Central Park Conservancy. In 2010, at age eighty, Ms. Wynne left her beloved Manhattan, moving to the exclusive Residence at Timber Pines, in Spring Hill, Florida.
Ms. Wynne was cremated prior to a memorial service in Florida. This spring, her family will scatter her ashes in Sheepshead Bay.
There will be a celebration of Joan's Life on April 17th, 2015 from 6-8pm at the Brewer & Sons Seven Hill Location on Mariner Blvd in Spring Hill.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Alzheimer's Association or Hernando Pasco Hospice.
